    That’s a refreshingly respectful take.

    I know a few Goth women that dislike how their subculture has been the subject of a fetish. But a deep respect for the power and independence of Goths is not the same as the fetishization of a people and comes from a more constructive place, I would guess. Not the same as ‘yellow fever’ for Asian women for example.

      Hey, I genuinely believe that self-expression is sexy and metal AF. That holds for goths or drag queens or anyone else, tbh.

        It stems from confidence which is one of the traits that people universally tend to find attractive. Be yourself should be rephrased as “be confident about yourself”
