Everybody thinks advertising doesn’t work on them.

Most advertising isn’t trying to convince you to buy product X that’s being advertised. It’s trying to get you to think about the brand itself. They’re saying “Buy this fridge from Brand A” but they’re not actually trying to sell you a fridge, what they really want is for you to think of Brand A the next time you’re looking for a new appliance or some other product they sell.
That’s so nice of him! Tell him I appreciate it.
Not exactly the same, but Serpico shows what happens to good cops who reguse to turn a blind eye to corruption, and it’s based on a true story.

1·1 day agoDoes anyone really care that much about XP? It already doesn’t take that long to hit the level cap. It might be a thing immediately after the expedition, but I don’t see it being a very popular option.

And you may ask yourself
“How do I work this?”
And you may ask yourself
“Where is that large automobile?”
And you may tell yourself
“This is not my beautiful house!”
And you may tell yourself
“This is not my beautiful wife!”
It’s not that cold, just a little nipply.

14·5 days agoThe title is misleading. He’s not trying to force the nurses back to work, he’s putting pressure on the hospitals to negotiate.
It still needs to be way steeper than current carbon taxes are. Who wants to get a yearly check for $50 just to let billionaires destroy the planet? We’d all be better off if they were too scared to do it in the first place.

39·5 days agoThat sounds like being fired for cause, which usually means you aren’t entitled to unemployment benefits.
A carbon tax is really just a fee for pollution. The more money you have, the more you’re allowed to pollute. It needs to scale exponentially so that even Elon Musk would think twice about using a private jet.

301·6 days agoIt legitimately earned all those awards. Obviously it won’t be liked by everyone, but I think it was a clear winner for just about every award it was nominated for.
It’s a fantastic original game that has had a ton of care and love put into it, and it shows.
But very susceptible to inhalation, or so I’ve heard.

2·8 days agoI feel like what the game really needs is an economy. Not necessarily like a player economy, but more in terms of what to do with your money.
Right now, you can buy tools and weapons, but you can also craft them, so why spend the money when you can spend materials and free up stash space instead?
I have a full stash and millions of coins that I never spend because I have no incentive to. I’m just accumulating money that I have no use for.

It’s 5G either way
