Day by day, Palestinian Gaza is shrinking and a new Gaza is being forged through bulldozers and barriers. Netanyahu has indicated Israel may not stop at 70% depopulation and control. It may seek to preserve a large “buffer” zone in Gaza – as it is doing in Lebanon and Syria – or perhaps revive the project of Israeli settlement of the strip, which is in full swing across the West Bank.

All of this is happening in violation of international law and a “peace” plan that has no clear vision for a long-term solution for the Palestinian people.

So vile. And the world pretends not to see.

They’re going to totally choke them out.

People said Hamas could never be defeated, but this is probably the way to do it with the least casualties

Cultural memory doesn’t die unless we have some world-wide catastrophe. Even if they ‘choked Hamas out’ of Gaza, they, or another resistance group, would rise.

Dunno, plenty of examples of the contrary. For example Turkey vs Armenians, Morocco vs Polisario, Australia vs Aboriginals, … Plenty of resistance groups have been succesfully subdued.

Although I am not indigenous, I’d like to say that Aboriginal Australians might have been ‘subdued’ but their cultural memory is strong and they have never been defeated nor their culture totally erased. Damaged, yes, but not erased and getting stronger with time.
