I’d guess maybe a 50% chance that we’re all dead within 5–20 years because somebody will build superintelligent AI, and then the superintelligent AI will kill everyone.

    Don’t worry, they’re just building word guessing machines. We humans will find other creative ways to kill each other in the decades to come.

      If history tells us anything, it’s that only humans are truly most capable of cruelty, terror and death. When word guessing machines ever try to do the same, they’ll just be mimicking us.

    I mean I guess that only thing that would bother me with the scenario is the superintelligent AI apparently is not using their intelligence any better than us. Hopefully it would manipulate us into a more sustainable utopia that allowed for sustainable expansion.
