The winter chills are settling in, and its getting to my bones.
I currently have these old polyester leggings, but they’re quite bad at insulation (who would guess a plastic bag is bad at), and they aren’t the greatest sensory experience.
I want to upgrade to something of better quality, made of wool / fleece instead for the winter.
I typically don’t like reusing leggings, so it would have to be cost-effective enough to buy 8 of them.
What do you recommend?
I don’t know how I ever lived through winters without my Merino leggings. They are warm and comfy. But they were not in a price category I would buy 8 of them.
It’s neither necessary nor recommended to wash wool that often. For me it’s enough to air them out on my balcony over night and only wash them after several wears, so I’m good with 2. But if that doesnt feel right to you, them maybe wool would not be the best choice for you (or you’ll have to replace the leggings more often).
Same here! I love my Merino leggings and they work well even in -14C degrees and windy weather. They are also very durable, unlike any polyester and cotton leggings I’ve ever had.
I have some fleece-lined leggings that are incredibly warm, though they do start to itch after a few hours (I don’t shave my legs, so YMMV). They look less like standalone leggings than they do like really thick tights, but I mostly wear them under pants, so that’s not a big deal for my uses
Paging @okokimup@lemmy.world she’s great with this kind of thing
Sadly don’t have experience with this item.
