Don’t panic. It’s not as bad as it sounds. It doesn’t even necessarily need to be treated if people have it:
Your health care provider can talk with CDC staff about whether your case of leishmaniasis should be treated and, if so, with what type of therapy.
If my doctor says, “Hey, just sit tight for a second while I run call the CDC really quick…,” I’m leaving immediately.
