the problem with a laser is that while you can permanently ruin camera sensors quickly, powerful lasers risk hurting bystanders if it reflects weirdly and they don’t have eye protection.

also what laser were you thinking of using? the most common lasers that are easy to obtain are the cheap Amazon ones that are only a few milliwatts. while they can destroy sensors, you have to hold them there for a while.

that’s essentially what Regan did back in the early 80s. used military controllers to replace the fired ones, decertified and dissolved the existing union. regardless of what the media and Duffy and the rest of the admin says, ATC are ultimately expendable in their eyes, even if it’s too the detriment of everyone.
