Produce quality is already very noticeably down, at least the mass produced stuff. Greenhouse/hydro grown is untouched obviously but prices are sky high as a result.

What’s your take on it? (I just like reading takes on Bioshock)

News@lemmy.world•Why more and more people are tuning the news out: ‘Now I don’t have that anxiety’
1·6 个月前That’s true as well, and that’s sort of what I mean. People and outlets simply are not allowed to communicate ideas which might harm the interests of those who own or are invested in the channels. Or if they are, it’s quickly overwhelmingly countered with a firehose of conflicting information. As a blatantly obvious example of this I always bring up Bernie Sander’s Presidential campaigns. Whenever they televised a Sanders event or some event he was speaking at or attending, the media would run pro-private healthcare segments as often as they could. Commercials, opinion pieces, bringing “experts” on to provide commentary, it was just nonstop bullshit fear mongering attempting to terrify Americans out of voting for a more beneficial public system.
I’m hopeful FOSS projects will see a big boost in funding and contributions in response to this nonsense. It’d be a nice silver lining to this cloud of shit.

News@lemmy.world•Why more and more people are tuning the news out: ‘Now I don’t have that anxiety’
27·6 个月前I just want healthcare, housing and education to be accessible, and the news seems hellbent on reporting on everything except that which could affect any of those issues in a positive way. They never do and that’s one of the big reasons we’re dealing with Trump.

2·6 个月前Damn. I just watched Clearcut the other day. Lesser-known title of his but extremely enjoyable psychological horror, set and filmed in Canada. It was a great recommendation. He was also great in lots of other movies as well as The Red Green Show. RIP.

8·6 个月前Don’t have to deal with it at all if you simply stop going. That’s what I’ve done, as it doesn’t make sense to spend $15 on a fast food meal when the same amount of money buys food from a real restaurant.
Me too. That’s why I drink Anal Prolapse. Anal Prolapse: It’s got nutrients?

1·6 个月前What about using those services to debug thoroughly shitty personal projects? I have no issue with the Chinese getting their hands on my terrible code as they subsidize my computer science education. It’s crazy how cheap even their reasoner is. Kinda feels like Google/other providers should have their APIs subsidized to the level of Chinas tbh.
I mean tbf, politics is all that is on a lot of people’s minds. Americans especially. Its kind of the front and center thing with TFG in charge. I’m just elated to see actual discussion, angry as it may be, instead of an endless chain of (Removed). It’s nostalgic and raw. It reminds me of the old days.
I was gonna make a comment about how at least lemmy is “picking up steam” user wise, but then I remembered all the dipshits and children that are on reddit. Lemmy is slower but content and discussion so far has been of much higher quality.

Meh. It’s been dead to me since it was sold off to an ad company years ago. It was novel and cool 10 years ago but today there are plenty of better alternatives and even default launchers have come a long way. OneUI + Good Lock has been more than enough for me on my phone and tab.
