  • Smart lights did wonders for me! Specifically having them slowly turn on to wake me up without alarms has been very nice. Provided I went to bed early enough it makes waking up very gentle and automatic. I only still use alarms just in case the light somehow doesn’t wake me

Edit: ah, but that might not help with falling asleep, but might help you maintain your schedule in the long run. Having automation turn your lights off when you’re supposed to go to sleep might do something, so long as you are also good at not looking at bright screens prior to going to bed.

  • Many of these people legitimately hold these views. I have a friend who is absolutely a socialist who is still very much in favor of my country not aiding Ukraine as it would support “imperialism” in his eyes. My impression is that he and those like him are unwilling to ever compromise on any ideal they hold, even if it means not supporting any position whatsoever. Like you can debate him as much as you want about whether or not aiding Ukraine in any capacity is imperialism or not, but at the end of the day his main concern is not contributing to something he perceives as evil.

That said, I do agree that many of these people aren’t being genuine. I sometimes wonder if he’s secretly an accelerationist or something. Many people that use the same talking points as him online certainly are, rather than fascists trying to take us down from the inside.

  • The article seems rather prejudiced against non-christian cultures and uses slavery practices, slaves rights, and womens rights in ancient rome to imply that the rest of the world was the same. Additionally, there is a rather clear difference between a one year old child and a few months old fetus, even if it is true that the exact moment we pick as an acceptable limit for abortion is arbitrary. The author paints any sort of sexual freedom as us regressing back to antiquity, which is obviously just some dumb slippery slope thing, made clear by the last part of the article painting christianity as a garden and paganism as a wild sinister forest.

Also, why is it that pro-lifers never bring up plan B or contraception?

  • Absolutely the game(s) of the year for me. Some games are surprisingly long with hours of gameplay, but most are short, and with the ability to jump in and out of games at will my ADHD brain is very happy. Some games I would never have bought on their own, and them being in this little bundle means it’s easy for me to give them a chance.

I really do recommend ufo 50 to anyone who likes retro games. It’s like having a nes emulator with all the games, but with the added benefit of modern game design and a minimum standard of goodness.

Also, playing the bundle at the same time as a friend is a nice experience! You start talking about what games you’ve tried and give each other hints and stuff.

Fav games: Porgy, Avianos, Rock On! Island, Pilot Quest (time in this game passes when you play other games btw!), Grimstone (get a bank account if you get stuck), Mini & Max
