I’m using Kagi. I’ve also tried out Uruky to see if that would be a viable non-US alternative.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•If you are formerly religious, how did you leave your religion and what made you do it?English
18·10 days agoRaised protestant Christian. What made me leave the religion: 1. debating a militant atheist who asked questions I couldn’t answer 2. textual criticism and apologetics classes I took during my biblical studies course 3. intellectual curiosity. that sounds conceited but you do have to have some form of it to question everything you have been taught up until then.
what happened next is not very exciting. I worked up the courage to tell my mom and the church, stopped attending church services, and had a second puberty of sorts (many such cases!). I’m on good terms with everyone in my family, they respect my position and I respect theirs. No coercion of any kind.
I’d call myself agnostic today. I don’t 100% with absolute certainty rule out the possibility that there might be a higher power after all, but I live my daily life as if there isn’t any.

4·13 days agoCan’t relate to be honest. I’m just over 6’1 and I love it. I also don’t necessarily relate my physical appearance to being intimidating. A friendly demeanor and a smile go a long way.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is the best email server you use?English
3·17 days agoI’m using Proton. European, encrypted, an ecosystem that generally works for me (there are exceptions… such as Calendar). Ticks my boxes. What works for me might not work for you, but you could give it a try.
You could also try something like Migadu which has a nice low-budget plan and are generally a no-frills type of company which I don’t see using AI anytime soon if at all.

World News@lemmy.world•'Heat strokes are part of the job': In Delhi, construction workers endure 43°C heatEnglish
2·18 days agoHere’s what I do to convert Celsius to Fahrenheit and vice versa. I just remember the following three things.
-40C = -40F; 10C = 50F; for every 5 degrees C, you add 9 degrees F.
So that means that 25C = 77F. and 40C = 104F, and 43C is about 110-ish F.
