Really bizarre to write or post an article saying this deposit was ‘discovered’. This is decade old news. I saw the headline and thought ‘oh nice that’s like a whole other Thacker Pass’ but it literally is just Thacker Pass.

Somebody needs to figure out a way to prevent people from upvoting headlines of articles they haven’t read because as far as I can tell there is absolutely no reason to post or upvote this.

If only there was information in the post about where it is then you wouldn’t have to guess. Or you can just make stuff up to get mad at.

‘Lawmakers oppose legislation and try to attend meeting’ doesn’t normally imply ‘actively disrupting the legislature in protest’. It’s lying by omission. Yeah technically they were ‘opposing the legislation’ but that’s not why they were arrested.

Turns out they do actually arrest you when you try to get arrested to bring attention to something.

Incredibly charitable of you to pretend that the tweet or whatever accurately reflects that text. ‘two black lawmakers arrested for opposing legislation’ is a little bit different than ‘a black lawmaker and his brother arrested for interrupting the session and refusing to leave when ordered’. I think it’s based of them to do that but come on.

I’m actually starting to see the point in a weird way. If they think about as critically as a dog or a cat maybe it doesn’t make sense to hold their decisions to a higher moral standard. We don’t call it immoral when non-human animals rape other non-human animals because they aren’t capable of the level of thought required to conceptualize moral decisions. But, uh, neither are significant amounts of humans apparently.

I can eat you therefore kiling and eating you is not morally wrong or a moral issue.

40% of people saying ‘spanking children is not a moral issue’ is probably the worst datapoint here. At least 4 in 10 people are fully just animals blundering around operating on instinct and following what feels good. And that’s not even counting the other people whose idea of morality is just ‘what is my visceral reaction’ who had a visceral reaction.

Its so annoying how hard it is to find blades for safety razors. Twice now I’ve flown somewhere with no blade in my razor hoping to find blades at the destination and had to either buy a disposable or get blades sent to an amazon locker.

I really want to hear the room chatter that was happening 5 minutes in. Surely after like 15 the sorts of people there would have been like ‘ok we’re vibing with the supreme leader listening to music, this is cool too’ but after 5 minutes there had to be some confused discussion that would be really funny to hear.

This is nonsense. We find oil faster than we use it most years, proven reserves have been an upward trend basically forever. If we completely stopped looking for oil we still have about 50 years left at the current rate and we have bigger problems if we haven’t slowed consumption in 50 years.

I can’t buy a metro line for my city, I can make sure my next car is electric. Buying an electric car is morally superior to buying a gas car.
