  • There should always be a rental market of all sizes.

I was thinking you should be capped at the number of residential properties you own regardless of size.

Maybe increase property tax rate of subsequent properties by a multiplier?

Second property, additional 10%, third property 15%, and so on. Maybe 10, than 20, then 30, etc… Whatever drives down ownership and home costs.

  • You literally answer your own questions with your denigrating comments.

But to answer you, here are a few bullet points:

    • My favorite take is Frederick Douglass’s characterization about “American Christianity”. It is all about hypocrisy and it mostly stems from the white south and their justification for slavery.

    • There are plenty of solid, “good” christian based practices, but there are also way too many bad faith ones.

    • USA has a Constitutional amendment about this, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion…” by posting the TC in schools, this is ridiculously close to just that.

    • You want this argument to be about whether or not people believe in God or the TC, but it’s really about separation of church and state.

    • What did Christ say when asked which was the greatest commandment? Yeah, he didn’t even respond with any of the original ten.

    • You know what should be posted in the classroom? The “All I really need to know I learned in kindergarten.” poster. That is a better summation of Christ’s response than the TC.

    • The TC in schools is a dog whistle issue meant to make dumbass christians, like yourself, argue “Whats so wrong about the TC?”, instead of focusing on real issues.

    • I grew up in a very christian, faith based household. The church we belonged to was very kind, supportive of its members, and urged commitment and sacrifice to better the community. I would consider it a strong contender for what Christ intended. But even with that framework growing up, I realized this, and it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see it: the complete and utter bullshit the bible is. It is nothing more than a bunch of stories curated to control the moronic sheep that fear death. It was supported by the ruling classes because it helped support their claims and created this fantasy for the proletariat to feel better about and accept their plight.

Religious choice should be a personal, private relationship each person has with God. Not a tool used to force all of society to bow to your own beliefs.

  • I got this at a friend’s party.

They were having contests like bobbing for apples and who could eat the caramel apple the fastest…, silly but fun games like that.

I won the caramel apple eating contest, but right afterwards my friend came out of the back room acting like he missed it and wanted an opportunity to win.

So he asked if I would do it again, in a 1v1 with him.

I said yes, of course, but he he gave me a caramel covered onion as a prank.

It was pretty funny. I tore into that sucker and was halfway done chewing the first huge bite before I realized something was wrong.

They said I just stopped “mid-chew” and it looked like my computer froze as my brain took a second to process what was happening.

His wife had been standing by to take a picture and I looked so completely dumbfounded.

They blew it up and put in an 8x10 frame and kept it in their living room for years.

I wish I had asked for a copy. We moved away a long time ago and I doubt they still have it.

  • For me or was definitely about the medication.

The diagnosis did give me some vindication, but I wish so dearly that I was diagnosed and treated a long time ago.

It sounds so dumb and fake when I say it, but I now have the ability to actually do what I know I need to do.

It is not perfect, and there are some side effects, but if I had this ability 30 years ago, I would have avoided so many problems.

That being said, they don’t let you take Adderall in the Navy and I loved so much about my time there.

But to give you context. I am 50 years old now. I am a pretty smart guy. It still took me 9 years to finish my EE degree. I landed a fantastic job at an engineering firm but was flailing, trying to make my deliverables. I was almost fired.

Then I was diagnosed, got meds, and suddenly I can actually work through the day without issues. I still struggle here and there, but it is nothing like it was before. I am doing well at my job now and don’t have nearly as much negative stress in my life.

The main drawback I have is the increased heart rate and BP. Its not great at my age. Not dangerous, but not great. So I don’t take it on the weekends and sometimes not during the week either.

  • You need to let it go, or get over whatever this weird outrage this is that you are having.

I can feel however I want, you don’t get to gatekeep that.

I didn’t tell George RR Martin to do anything. I said a line on a social media forum.

You are choosing to take my words in the way you are describing and not in the way I intended. That is a form of manipulation and gas lighting. Especially after I clarified.

Who called me entitled? I guess I missed that. That’s a weird take, whoever said it.
