The male characters, ESPECIALLY fathers, are portrayed as dumb, deaf, blind, and exhibit incompetence of the highest order. They can’t even do basic things right. Even if you watch our commercials, you get a dumb, deaf, blind male who comes and shows his incompetence, and then a woman comes to the rescue and shows him how to use some product the right way. Even John Wick managed to get his butt handed to him by someone half his size and half his weight, while he could effortlessly beat others twice or thrice his own size. The subliminal disrespect for men in this country has become clearer and clearer over time.
