Was hab ich denn in letzter Zeit so gehört…? Amon Amarth fallen mir spontan ein, einfach weil ich die die Tage erst live gesehen habe und die Jungs einfach immer noch fantastisch Party machen.
Sylosis: Die beste Band, die kein Schwein kennt. Bitte mal in “I Sever” oder “A sign of things to come” reinhören.
The Halo Effect: “Neues” Projekt aus (ex-) In Flames und (immer noch) Dark Tranquillity Leuten.
Lorna Shore, wenn es mal etwas härter sein darf.
Bleed From Within hab ich letztes Jahr aufm Festival für mich entdeckt, auch ne super Show.
Orbit Culture für die etwas modernere Gangart.
Gojira waren schon immer gut, nicht erst seit der Olympischen Eröffnungsfeier.
Be’Lakor, wenn ich mich mal wieder in ausuferndem, komplexen melodeath verlieren möchte. Die “Stone’s Reach” ist eins meiner absoluten Lieblingsalben.
Mastodon für die eher progressivere Richtung.
Insomnium wegen Nostalgie, aber funktioniert auch einfach immer noch gut.
Deafheaven: Black metal trifft shoe gaze, und das Ergebnis ist großartig.
Arka’n Asrafokor sind meine spannendste Entdeckung des Jahres, Metal aus Togo. Viele traditionelle Einflüsse in der Musik.
Ansonsten noch der Krams, der bei mir irgendwie immer läuft: Iron Maiden, In Flames, Dark Tranquillity, Soilwork, Killswitch Engage, Omnium Gatherum, Enter Shikari, Queens of the Stone Age, Electric Callboy und ein Bisschen Heaven Shall Burn.
