Delta seems cool, I haven’t used it much, but I would rate it one step below Signal for general use. It can be the chat for 30s, I think 😀

Signal is better than WA (from privacy point of view) but it’s still a centralised service. I am personally a fan of xmpp but since I was never even able to convince anyone to switch from WA to Signal, convincing people to switch to a federated service is even tougher.

On the other hand, switching messengers once every decade should be fine, I think. We did switch from ICQ/AIM to Yahoo! / MSN messenger, then came Skype, then WhatsApp. I think Signal should be good enough for this decade.

There’s also Threema, Swiss based, but it has one-time payment, so most people wouldn’t like it.

I haven’t used it much, but https://www.wanikani.com/ claims they are pretty good.

Take a backup once every 6 months or so, and have it on my computer. Along with my backup of password manager’s file.

As a last resort, I just remember my email account’s password and keep it’s backup codes with me, everything else can be reset as long as I can log into my email account.

Have you tried Aegis? I have settled on that for my 2FA needs.

I’ll suggest implementing some kind of auto-save. Just keep it in internal db until user saves it or something. Cause on mobile, generally it is expected that things will auto-save, and there are many lower end phones that automatically close app when they go in the background, specially if there are multiple apps open.

What do you think of NewPipe? That’s the only one I use, haven’t tried GrayJay or PipePipe

It’s pretty neat. Specially liked the PDF summary, though why does summary says “Connector void” about all connectors, I couldn’t figure out a way to do anything with the connectors.

Also, when saving .flogo file, it doesn’t check if file already exists, and overwrite it.

Also, is there any auto-save? I didn’t check? But if I am making a long flowchart, wont’ want to lose cause of accidentally closing the app.

I guess I should jump start this by sharing my own list.

I was away from android ecosystem for a few years, but a few of my must-haves are:

• AntennaPod: Podcast app, open-source. Not a big podcast guy, but this works pretty great.
• KDE Connect: Connect your phone with computer (Linux, not sure about other OS), you can sync notifications, send commands, message, share files etc.
• Tasker: All time favourite automation app, don’t think there is any competition for this.

Bonus:

• AppDialer Pro: A search app / widget to quickly open any app / contact / other stuff by using T9 (or full keyboard), I had the previous Pro version but apparently it’s outdated now and need to buy the latest version, so not sure if I want to right now. Latest version is called: “AppDialer 11–T9 app search”

Edit: Don’t watch much review videos, hadn’t even heard of the guy. Looked up the video, and ended up subscribing to his channel 😀 At least he is getting free publicity with it.

Yeah, I didn’t know it was just one person. That doesn’t really feel umm… safe for something like email.

This looks pretty great. How long have you been using it for? I am using FastMail for quite a while, but I don’t use web interface, or calendar / contacts syncing (have my own nextcloud server for those), so just need email. Its’ pretty pricey compare to purelymail.

It’s a paid app, not open source. They can’t take any contributions without hiring or paying the person, or will open themselves to legal repercussions.
