Always liked the Euros. It is a cool car with its conditional fixed spawn. I like how it is a completely unique model, and never appears anywhere else.
No my smoke detector had an ‘operational light’. It flashed every 30 seconds or so, so you knew it didn’t have a dead CPU or so.

linuxmemes@lemmy.world•Reminder for Windows 10 users who can't upgrade to Windows 11English
13·2 年前This just objectively isn’t true. The XP EOL date actually forced users hands. There WAS refresh cycle in 2014, the only reason it didn’t turn in to the uprising it is seemingly turned into, is because Microsoft kinda got lucky, and this refresh cycle purged Pentim 4-s and Celeron M-s and Pentium D-s, and old Athlons, all of which were ewaste from new.

Patient Gamers@sh.itjust.works•Patient gamers, which games have you discovered/played this week?English
2·2 年前So as it turns out the original FlatOut is a very different game from it’s sequel, and is a pretty unique and complete game of its own.
Is it one of those ASUS or similar ones? There is a wifi dongle that has drivers for linux, and says on the box linux support, but actually both the kernel and the provided drivers for the chipset are broken, you need to clone the github of the CHIP manufacturer, and compile it. After that, it works.

Programmer Humor@lemmy.ml•New VS Code Extension Replaces Booleans with TogglesEnglish
1·2 年前No there is AT LEAST one use for this. You could create an options class with booleans, and you could toggle settings when running or debugging. Also less savvy people (other non software engineers) can toggle settings easier for internal tools.

Technology@lemmy.world•Microsoft wants $30 to let you keep using Windows 10 securely for another yearEnglish
28·2 年前What an idiotic perspective. Microsoft has supported W10 for literally 12 years at the cutoff date. Show me another software product that receives TWELVE YEARS worth of free support. 30 bucks is fair enough. For enterprises this is play money, if you are a private, you could upgrade fucking 7 keys. Which means, you didn’t need to pay a fucking cent to MS since 2007. No one has ever matched this kinda support. Ten percent of this is considered fucking generous.
And herre is a thought for you. The reason why windows is full of adware and spyware is precisely because of dickheads, who won’t pay 30 fucking dollars EVERY TWENTY YEARS. This is your fault.
Well this is what makes it interesting. He has to roll the rock to keep up the lie. But since he does at what point does it stop being a lie? You can ask questions about this and this makes it interesting.

34·2 年前True but if you can’t do it, you are pretty screwed.
This is a pretty good detail. Makes the story a lot more interesting, and deep.

Technology@lemmy.world•M4 Mac Mini Power Button Has New Bottom LocationEnglish
34·2 年前Not if you hold the power button. Yeah if you single press a power button, the os can divert that, but long press, the SMC will cut power. Similarly how, pressing and holding the power and the volume down button on a phone, cuts power, even if the OS is hard frozen. Sometimes you just need an emergency exit.

243·2 年前I don’t, but apple does. This is why the touch ID is in the keyboard. To be fair it does come as a unit if you buy the mac new.
