It wouldn’t take much for governments to recognise and attempt reconciliation for the idea of stolen land to become less prominent. This is true everywhere, not just in NA.

From my perspective in different western country, I’m shocked you still believe there are things he COULDNT change, ignore, replace, or destroy in any part of the government.
It’s been decades of US-centric media, political commentary, and general cultural dominance/presence in our lives in most English speaking countries whether we liked it or not.
I kind of read this as the elastic band snapping back, we’ve had to hear so much about the US for long, this is almost cathartic. I grew up skateboarding and taking the trams to get around my city. Many of my friends did not, and were driven everywhere. For them, once they were able to get a car and their license, being an adult and synonymous with driving yourself places - because that’s what they always experienced.
There are so many benefits to public transit and green spaces, but most people have never experienced them and can’t fathom why anyone would want to let go of their individual mobility and sense of adulthood. Which sucks.
