Correct, but it’s coming from the wrong guy. Libya, Syria, Somalia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Yemen would like a word.

I feel like it’s because women don’t yet have the option to get cybernetic implants. They can’t hack the servers of the Palantir corp with a thought or jump the distance of a football field so they have to make do with lip collagen or whatever. Sad really.

Votes don’t equate to real power. Huge amounts of money and resources, like we see everyday in the news, are what move the needle. The only counter to that is mobilized political outrage. Overwhelming numbers of people making the economy sputter until demands are met. Otherwise, we can expect more of what we have now.
But yeah, a higher min wage is a good step forward.

Since no one believes in unions and they’ve been legislatively kneecapped, social pressure to pay them tends to fall on the consumer. It’s not ideal, but such is the economy we live in.
Have you tried blaming someone with power?

Doing well? They’re getting by like the rest of us. Why would they do that job if they weren’t being paid for it?
My nickname in high school

A lot of people in the comments are remarking on the tip culture in America. Friendly reminder that it’s not the culture that necessitates tipping here. We have a tipping economy when it comes to a lot of service work. $2.13 is the minimum wage for servers in the states. This is less than what could rightfully be called a starvation wage, so tipping is a social necessity. You might think that’s crazy and we should change it, and you would be correct.
Fascists are scared of a lot of things, but this isn’t one of them. One camp uses a degree of class analysis, while the other is aggressively identitarian and thinks class politics are the hallmark of a bad person who’ll abandon marginalized groups.
Both rely chiefly on electoral wins to get the outcome they want. This alliance is a paper tiger.

Fair point. I heard somewhere that revolutionary overthrows never happen until widespread hunger sets in.

These updates seemed like a call to action at first, but now they feel like a means to psychologically accept what’s happening. 350 million people in this country and there’s effectively no opposition to a senile fascist fuck-up taking permanent control. None of this is okay or tenable. Americans can’t afford to keep waiting for him to croak, especially since he has capable fascists in line behind him.

Be honest, that’s not where millions of Americans are. 3 jobs, no overtime, ludicrous living costs is where many Americans are.
Hmm, I wish I’d dated the one who wrote this. I haven’t believed in love for like 15 yrs.

Cuuuuuuuuuuute
I’d really appreciate it if Bernie and co would go whole hog. 50% is a half measure, whereas proposing full nationalization would be more respected on a world stage and probably in congress.

Oh cool, sounds lovely.

Which socialist country did you live in?
If you don’t like guns, that’s understandable. Everyone has something to offer, even if it’s just a little food and a place to crash.
