We need passion projects.

We need creatives that have a story they want to tell. Not a rehash or reimagining. Not a format change (animation to live action.)

We need stories that are engaging and not something creates to be half paid attention to with the plot retold multiple times on the dialogue.

We don’t need the latest action comedy with as many witty one liners as possible. We don’t need never ending sequels where the stakes keep growing and growing until they ultimate are saving the world, over and over again.

I have an engineer that uses it heavily.

It adds so much extra and he’ll push thousands of lines of code into a PR every week. He had one bug and tried to refactor it, he bloated that single file by 16%.

It’s almost impossible to review.

I loved Um, Actually a lot when Mike Trapp hosted. It was formatted well for people to play along with at home and the trivia spanned a greater gamut of nerd culture.

Now that Iffy is hosting, the format seems to have become more like “watch them play the game” with shiny questions that are physical interactions they contestants perform like shoot the character we photoshopped with nerf darts or hurry and put these things on different walls based on some category and see who got more. They show less and less of the art or games so we can’t even try to solve it along side the contestants.

Also, the content has narrowed with a significant increase in anime questions. And a sharp increase in making “themed” or special episodes.

I feel the direction has focused more on what Iffy is interested in rather than what they viewers are interested in. It’s turned me off of the show and a lot of my family as well.

Stop making websites do more and more shit, and browsers would need less and less development.

Stop making browsers with AI enhanced garbage. Stop embedding “features” in software that at its core only needs to render websites.

The computers will make us do math to determine the next block in some memecoin.

And I think we, as a country, need to realign our views on that. Property damage is not violence. Violence is harm to an individual. To a person. Not economic damage, but actual physical health damage.

They will respond with violence to property damage. And that needs to be fought.

So if their cars have tires slashed, windshields broken, it’s not violence.

If they are blocked on the street and can’t drive down it. It’s not violence.

Tear gas and “less-than-lethals” are violence.

They have been violent to us, the people. Exclusively.

I’ve been advocating for months now that blue states need to get their state guard going.

It’s like the national guard, but entirely run by the state. It cannot be federalized. The downside is that they often share membership with the national guard and often get their training through the national guard and federal military branches.
