Yeah, if you tried to hold a cat like that they would not be impressed.

Linux@lemmy.ml•[solved] Has anyone set up a RaspberryPi with Alpine Linux as a headless system?
51·18 days agoalso asked AI and it said that by default Alpine uses dropbear for ssh instead of openssh and the latter could be more strict when it comes to permissions. I’m not so familiar with the workings of ssh
I’d stick to Raspbian if you’re struggling.

1·1 month agoI’m not buying ‘they need data cos they offer more products’. The companies have made different choices in how they build their software.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Most, if not all car companies collect and profile your data, how can I improve my privacy when buying a modern car?
4·2 months agoI find this a bit misleasing, especially when (in the uk) electricity is only ~50% renewables apparently.
https://www.zemo.org.uk/assets/workingdocuments/MC-P-11-15a Lifecycle emissions report.pdf
For example, a typical medium sized family car will create around 24 tonnes of CO2 during its life cycle, while an electric vehicle (EV) will produce around 18 tonnes over its life. For a battery EV, 46% of its total carbon footprint is generated at the factory.
So EVs are a small improvement. Since I enjoy older cars and my privacy a lot more, I’m gonna keep enjoying them and not let manafacturers ram EVs down my throat, especially when a lot of them are hideous SUVs.

UK Politics@feddit.uk•We Asked This MP If He Really Wanted to Be in Your Party. Then He Quit | Novara Media
2·2 months agoI agree it’s been more stumbling boulders than blocks so far, but I’m more optimistic. Even if it fails I think even just their effort can encourage more people that there can be another way, maybe the eventual answer will come from a different new party, cos like you say Labour is showing they aren’t the answer.
I rarely bother giving media any attention, let alone let it influence my opinion. What frustates me is when other people do.

UK Politics@feddit.uk•We Asked This MP If He Really Wanted to Be in Your Party. Then He Quit | Novara Media
4·2 months agoI didn’t say anything was going well either. They’re barely off the ground and the amount of articles slamming them is ridiculous. We live in a so called democracy, so let’s let a new democratic party form and vote if we believe in them and their plan. I’m bored of this soap opera style journalism.

63·3 months agoDoes it? Or do the media continue to attempt to drive that belief into the public because they’re funded by other parties?
Oh look, another media outlet putting down Corbyn…

Stoned turtle.
Why is allowing vehicles running on alternative fuels that have 0 emmissions a bad thing? Why are we all hell bent on pursuing EVs, inisisting that’s the solution and just ignoring all their downsides?

Formula 1@lemmy.world•FIA confirms Lewis Hamilton punishment after Singapore GP breach
2·4 months agoHe’s just playing the game like every driver does, but yeah the rules are ridiculous. Slight damage to your front wing and you’re usually forced to change it due to safety, but driving around with no brakes for 2 laps is fine.

Feels like they’re trying to be ‘modern’ by not going with the lines and being blocky instead.
