The idea of not “bothering the rest of us” seems inherently flawed. They are someone’s offspring, sibling, neighbor, coworker, a voter, etc. Having folks in our communities be so isolated isn’t healthy for a functioning society

bl4kers@lemmy.mltoShitty Ask Lemmy@lemmy.ml•What's good about Sony's spidermanless spiderman universe?English
3·10 days agoIdk if it counts but the first Venom movie was quite good and unique. Blends rom com, action, and a little sci-fi. Unfortunately the sequel was bad and I heard the third was even worse
Isn’t that just on a file-by-file basis though?
Yeah it’s like any other music streaming app
I just assume most people won’t have an easy way to tunnel into their home network if they’re out to do streaming
I’m thoroughly confused now. Are you using the Jellyfin app (or something hooked up to your server) on your phone or nah? If not, I would consider that a Syncthing-only setup, since it could be pointed to Plex or any files. No judgment and it’s fine if you disagree. I’m just curious what tools people use and how they use them
The Jellyfin app already supports local downloads. And if using Syncthing to get your files locally you can use any player
What is Jellyfin’s value add in a setup like this? Seems better to use one or the other
I couldn’t get trackpad gestures working on an Intel Mac. Tried both Ubuntu and Elementary

11·2 months agoAs I understand it any carrier could break at any time. The Graphene team isn’t prioritizing fixes because it’s not E2EE

I have “Use Tailscale DNS settings” and “Use Tailscale subnets” enabled. I just took the defaults, no special setup
To be clear though I’m not asking for technical advice. Just wanted to warn others this offering isn’t plug-and-play. I suppose that isn’t too surprising given its lack of killswitch functionality
To clarify, you can purchase Mullvad access from Tailscale directly. They built an integration together. More details here: https://tailscale.com/mullvad
I’m not privy enough to know where in the chain the issue occurred. But Tailscale’s response seems to indicate they aren’t too concerned about temporary disconnections

2·3 months agoI’d argue it’s different in the case of Pixel phones. In that case they’re controlling nearly 100% of the phone experience which probably allows them to maximize data collection
The LTT allegations were investigated by a third party who was unable to substantiate the claims and were described as “largely unfounded, misleading, and unfair”

They were sold to private equity and are slowly transitioning it away from Derek. That way it can be a brand not directly tied to him and his face
The channel is owned by private equity

I’m not sure the people who think they can find love in AI are the people who fall in love with AI. Same principle with cults-- virtually no one joins a cult knowingly. They’re just looking for connection and find it in a weird place
