You are likely scanning my profile and history because I said something in a tone that made you feel funny or angry. This is called being reactionary. You can overcome it.

  • The last several federal elections have had the highest voter turnout in US history. Our problem isn’t laziness or lack of voters, our problem is the people who voted fucking hate democrats. They largely weren’t all MAGA turds, in fact if you actually read the exit polling many of the people who voted for Trump in 2024 were Obama voters or Bernie supporters.

They didn’t vote for Trump because they’re racist monsters, most of them voted for Trump because they’re dumb and they don’t watch the news and when they do they see Democrats acting like pathetic losers while corporations drive our prices up. Millions of people voted for Trump because bird flu had driven egg prices up, and they associated that with Biden and Harris.

Dems don’t want “more voter turnout” they want more of their own idiots and boomers to vote for the status-quo.

If we want to fix this situation with our only actual funded “opposition” party and have a chance of taking the country back for citizens we have to flush ALL incumbent representatives out of the legislative branch. We start this in the States. Each state is a nation, those states have great power. DNC is a container, we pour out the contents, replace it with something new and use that to reform the federal government.

They can’t sabotage every election, they can’t put fucking ICE agents around your local school board voting in new management, they can’t be in every town electing a mayor. This is why Mamdani and other progressives won powerful state positions recently. Don’t be apathetic, don’t burn out because the dems are weak and awful and fake, make new politics. Get involved in your community, go to progressive victory and volunteer to help actual progressive candidates and ignore the paid DNC shills.

  • Yah, I keep pounding this wardrum for unity and trying to explain how left and right basically want the same things but one side is made of blubbering toddlers who can’t disconnect emotion from policy.

But you can mobilize them, you can push them to be your useful tool. Why does only Steve Fucking Bannon get away with manipulating dumb people? I don’t get it.

Push free healthcare, push social safety nets, call it “tax refunded emergency financial care” or something so they nod in agreement instead of spit and rage about socialism. Push for social services and regulations on businesses that are ruining their communities, remind them they pay taxes and deserve something back for it. Stop finger-wagging about race and gender issues, THEY DO NOT CARE.

THEY ARE DUMB. Jesus christ why aren’t more people using that fact as a tool for good. Most progressives have succumbed to the feed and the algorithm of rage bait and hate and now just want revenge and vindication, even if it means the world burns. They are the same.

  • Hey Brits.

    USA hostage here.

You are presently rolling your eyes at this manufactured outrage, hoping it will hurry up and just pass by already so people can get on with their lives, right?

We’ve been there. It’s not going to stop, it’s going to get worse. And worse.

This fascist, racist infection will turn into an even worse cancer over there because you have more than one nation around you with different looking and different sounding people who are going to start feeling more and more displacement from climate and geopolitics and who be seeking safety and survival.

You already have a surveillance state that beats us, you are losing rights and freedoms every day. You had the strongest alliances in the world, but between the Brexit fiasco and now the US’s oligarchs sabotaging NATO, you are losing your strongest source of capital, which was unity and international community strength. If Ukraine falls, you will have Russia on your doorstep controlling your gas and food.

You need to do what we failed to do early enough, which is reinforce local and domestic communities and see the threat for what it is, an active force of destruction that works in slow-motion and attacks you in your weak points, your forums and subreddits and your social media, your television stations and your news agencies.

You are in so much danger of escalating chaos it’s going to make the USA look sane and balanced.

  • You’re absolutely right. I grew up around real preppers, cult compounds, the whole nine yards. 90% of those people are completely deluded into thinking they will suddenly plant green beans and tomatoes and be fine if the world ends.

They want change, they want the system to be “reset” so that they can find new advantages and new ways to live without feeling crushed by the complicated systems of a world shared with millions of people.

But unless you’re already successfully living off acres of land with animals and greenhouses you have no chance of suddenly becoming a survivor in a worst-case scenario.

But I don’t think it’s going to get that bad, short of something completely out of left-field like an asteroid impact or an AI driven plague, and in those cases, I think I would choose to go find a nice place for a final picnic instead of having any idea that I’ll suddenly start wearing spiked leather and drive around a charger on oddly-abandoned highways.

Meanwhile, we’ve seen social disruptions happen all over the world, over and over, and they rarely last more than days or weeks, and you can do a massive amount of good with modest preparation. Even better if you can talk to your neighbors and have a community.

We don’t survive alone. The worst lesson they’ve pumped into the developed world is the notion of the “rugged loner” being anything but a statistic. This is where the whole “penguin debate” started. But that’s a whole other topic.

  • Literally every single fucking thing this admin and it’s evil fuckwads have said for the last decade and a half have been more than lies, they have been 100% dishonest about even the most mild things, I am DONE “taking the higher road” because that tactic has lost us everything.

We don’t even fucking KNOW if we’re going to have midterms this year, and we’re still hand-wringing about if everything in this FRACTION of the Epstein files is credible.

I’m done, I’m not arguing about this just because some reports are wild and extreme, it doesn’t even CHANGE anything, nobody is going to prison over any of this anyway, get your head out of the clouds and theory and policy and look where we’re at. The only way we turn people is make them SEE how bad it can be if they don’t care and don’t act, we have to shock the population into realizing what they’re empowering by showing that even the narratives of the worst things in the world are being released and nobody seems to even care enough to investigate.

I know evil, I’ve seen evil, I know what they do. Most people haven’t. I hope you never do and manage to keep this skepticism.

  • I am also a subscriber, I read John Dies At The End when it was a free book being discussed and shared when Jason was on SomethingAwful way back in the 2000’s, it was a great piece of easy-to-digest fiction that touched on a lot of themes and memes that were going around at the time so it gained a level of notoriety because of the creepiness factor of how much seemed to connect to headlines at the time.

Jason is just a good author and good at tying together a lot of wildly varied ideas into one point, better than most at it without coming off as conspiratorial, I think he deserves a lot more subscribers and reward for staying so consistent. (Other than about his name that is.)

Sure I agree but can we we just list all the names of the people affected without the cringe “You only know about the white ones” bait for disengagement? We want to capture as many as people as possible into this movement against fascism, it’s just fucking not the time to finger-wag and shame and even imply that we’re not all on the same fucking side here. If you can’t see how this pushes away average Americans you either don’t care or don’t understand how human emotional intelligence works.

Also, sure, fine, great. Impeaching Noem and “abolishing ICE” is good, but why is that the thesis? Why is that our goal? why isn’t it "Impeach, overthrow or primary every politician who has enabled this fascist takeover of America"?

Something about this whole message feels a little off, and we need to be careful for any traces of divisive language and narrow goals for what we want.

It’s not paranoia to say that there are truly evil people working around the clock to pay other people to seed our discourse with red-herrings, argument-bait and division. There are very real-seeming people who are actually just poor souls in other countries being farmed and paid by twitter to run propaganda campaigns, to make arguments and to get their materials shared and reshared as much as possible. If there’s ever a time to lash out at anyone creating problems and division like rabid bulldogs, it’s now.

  • I just don’t get dismissing any one report or story out of hand just because it sounds “implausible” by your own moral standards. That’s deeply biased.

Treat the whole thing as unverified or unsubstantiated, but don’t single out individual reported acts and crimes and say “That’s too much.” That’s just your brain trying to protect you. I don’t think we’re ever going to see investigations proving or disproving anything in those files, but it’s naive to think that people who rape and murder children are going to draw the line somewhere. Let’s face the dark reality and use that as our motivation to get involved and work towards dismantling the cult of the wealthy elite, not bury our heads because some things (things that that again, people have done for thousands of years as demonstrations of power) are too horrific to imagine.
