He’s getting fired because he flubbed the PR. Their lies were too audacious and too easily disproven to be fully accepted at desired numbers within their base. Steven Miller is reportedly one of his main detractors.

Whether it is his intention or not, that is the impact. Politicians can be nice and still end up promoting injustice due to timidity or a bias toward finding solutions through slow and steady politics or court cases.

Ask yourself whether an external force protecting the federal building helps or hurts ICE. Walz, and political leaders in general, will always choose the “negative peace of the lack of conflict” over the “positive peace of the presence of justice”. It may not be his intention to promote ICE, but when you provide defense for an aggressor it further enables their aggression.

The National Guard took up guarding the Whipple Federal Building two days ago and now DHS’s foot soldiers have been freed up to attack protesters elsewhere.
Giving out donuts and coffee sounds nice, but this operation isn’t in any way about limiting DHS terror.

This is the same guy who said Mamdani and AOC should leave the party, blamed trans people for Harris’s loss, and who endorsed Cuomo rather than the Democratic nominee in the NYC mayoral election. I’m sure he’s learned his lesson and will do better the next time.

It is really weird how her profile was raised in the 2020 presidential primaries, because you’re right, she’s really unimpressive. Some other moderates are really charismatic or have really impressive personal stories, but she’s just kind of a generic mediocre politician with nothing particularly interesting to say.

Drew Evans, superintendent of the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, said during a news conference that federal officers blocked his agency from the shooting scene, and when they returned with a signed judicial warrant, they were still blocked.
And then, despite having the police and national guard available to secure a crime scene from the murderers themselves, they threw up their hands and tutted disapprovingly.

1000x more valuable to society than every agent there combined.

And the police are more concerned with protests and property than enforcing the law against lawless invaders.

I’ve emailed Brian Schatz (who is usually considered kind of weakly progressive but folded during the earlier shutdown) twice before the shooting and requested a response. I’ve received nothing back and I’m really fucking worried he’s going to fold again.
You’d think funding the gestapo right after a public murder would be a toxic vote, but these motherfuckers always seem to weasel their way into doing absolutely nothing.

That scene hit so hard when I first saw it and it’s only gotten worse since then.

Pwitty pwease Mr. Dictator!

Turns out all that was available was one poorly schooled child and an army of knock-off Nazis.

I’m not even sure what you’re trying to say. Your beef is unclear and your argument muddled.

Eh, until one of these judges actually imposes sanctions I’m not impressed by their boldness.
Honestly the judiciary should have someone on standby to approve these requests to bar ICE from whisking detainees away from justice. 2.5 hours is a pretty good turnaround for justice, but frankly insufficient until ICE stops manipulating the justice system.

He could be fired as leader though. Make that a campaign issue for any Senate race.

Those of you who can do math will recognize that the vote would have failed if they all voted against it.

And because Jeffries gave him all his appointments back after Trump pardoned him for corruption.
I think we shouldn’t need for-profit news sources to provide us with factual information, but if public interest reports are free, what news can’t be argued to be public interest? And would anyone want to pay solely to access those fringe stories?
