The US’s position of economic strength is so fragile too. Most of it is in the financial and technology sectors, both of which can be moved relatively easily because their value is in non-tangible things. China’s economic power is in manufacturing - being able to build tangible things. Factories are much more stable.

This graph makes sense when you consider the main cost of these goods/services. The ones that have raised in price are very labor dependent and human labor is expensive (as it should be). The ones that got cheaper are items whose manufacturing can include a lot of automation. What this graph shows is that human labor is expensive. That is obviously not the only factor, but I feel it is a good explanation for the trends shown.

This should be normal and encouraged in education. Schools at every level should have students display mastery of the material before moving on to the next topic. Taking an exam once and performing poorly indicates the student didn’t understand the material and should continue studying and practicing until they can demonstrate they have mastered the concepts.
Failing an exam and then moving on to the next item in thecurriculum is a disservice to the student, the teacher, and to the entire goal of education.

Yeah, I think the missing point is the average Lemmy user is not the target market. This is Steam’s attempt to grab market share from the other consoles. People with gaming PCs are probably already using steam. People with Xbox or PS are probably not. Steam needs to provide an out of the box ready product to let them existing console players play steam.
The lowest donation in that tier is 240k, they could and are probably giving more.
