And this too will also be freaking online-only. I don’t know why I got Diablo IV, but I have it and I haven’t touched it. Because I once revisited Diablo III to see if I can stoke interest in it, to find that I had connection issues, then remembered “Oh right, it’s also ONLINE-ONLY”.
I’m sick of this shit being online only.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Whats the most boring unpopular opinion?English
74·7 days agoThe pineapple on pizza thing is one of them. It can be done, I mean, just don’t make the pineapple chunks overpower the taste of the other flavors of the pizza itself or just add something like ham slices or whatever to make it more palatable.
Or you know, shut the fuck up about pineapple on pizza and don’t fucking bother. Such a stupid trivial thing that took off for absolutely no reason.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How can I best help prevent people from committing suicide?English
1·7 days agoThe sad harsh reality is that, there’s not much that could be done unless you’re to commit them to therapy or have a wellness check summoned on them.
Suicide hotlines are only as good if someone suicidal has the willpower to call them, unfortunately, that’s either here or there.
But if someone wants to really go, they’re going to go and there’s nothing you can do about it.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What do people even mean by "If you don't use AI, you'll fall behind"?English
7·7 days agoIt’s from the same people who tell you to “GET IN EARLY” for whatever hot trend is about to take off, usually involving markets and trade.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Is it possible to have a public forum without moderators?English
1·7 days agoDo you want to know what a place is like without moderators? Go find a place called Chat-Avenue. There are chat rooms on there, I know they aren’t forums, but there’s no moderators in some of them. There is some open pedophilia going on unchecked in that place.
So what I’m saying is that, moderation is needed.

2·7 days agoI remember the Bill Gates video, that was infamous for a good long while.
You know, it’s people like Mr.Godin, that really makes me sad inside. We lose big names every year, any year. But the people who were the little crevices of society we lose, just makes the world much more greyer.

1·8 days agoDon’t be afraid to take it to ChatGPT and ask it. Because you’re asking for something awfully specific.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What did you like about the film *The Breakfast Club* (1985) and with which characters could you identify, and why?English
2·8 days agoI loved it but I couldn’t resonate with a single character. I guess what takes me out of it is that, I’ve not once ever been with a group of so many distinct personalities that just got along together in some way or fashion. It just wasn’t my kind of school and what I grew up with.
And I do remember the scene that I believe has been cut in many releases since, about when Bender was looking between Claire’s legs. I think it cuts a chunk of it when he was getting closer and closer, made her make a sound and then when the principal left, Bender got up and she started beating on him.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What do you think of the expression "basic knowledge"?English
3·11 days agoIt’s yet another subjective thing because it varies from person to person. Basic Knowledge from Person 1 will say “common sense, simple math” and Person 2 will say “manners and developing respect”. I mean, it’s everywhere.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's your overall opinion on generative AI?English
3·11 days agoIt has its uses. It’s just ruined by the bad apples of people who’ve long have had malicious intent where if you put anything that was intended for a good purpose in front of them, they’d ruin that for everyone.
For example, when there are things I do not know about like objects, I can take a picture of it, direct and show ChatGPT by asking what it is and it’ll tell me. It’s convenient to talk to an LLM to understand phrases, slang, slurs and their history about them in real time. I also have enjoyed using it to fix and enhance images that my phone’s piss-poor autofocus fucks up on with some images.
I think what really ruins AI is that, select people and companies are way too heavily reliant. It is not a solve-everything tool. It is not something you go to about everything, like mental therapy. It is not something you should be using to cheat on homework, to have it help you with getting by in colleges and school that rely on your own problem solving skills to navigate.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What do you think of Christopher Nolan's Batman Trilogy?English
321·12 days agoI felt that they were the most definitive Batman movies we’ll get for a while. I don’t think it was fair for people to uphold Dark Knight Rises against the Dark Knight, because the bar was already set high. It was all a nice breath of fresh air to have a series of movies that didn’t play up to a lot of fan service like the MCU did.
To this day though, I really don’t like how growling Batman got when he spoke. What was up with that? Give him a freaking cough drop.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What do you consider as "unworthy moments" in your life?English
2·12 days agoShitty apps on your car’s dashboard taking forever to load, like Android Auto. Google Maps too. God forbid I wanted to try learning a new route and see where it went to get to a destination, they both took so long and I didn’t want an accident that I caved going the familiar routes.

4·14 days agoUnfortunately, you’re not the demographic the industry is looking for. What they want now is obedient, but expendable staff who’ll only be on long enough to see a project done. Then you’re discarded. The other pocket of people they’d want is, you know what type.
You’re better of being your own independent video game worker.
