At a different job, I had someone print an email, put it in an envelope and post it to an external faxing service…

I had a manager at work who did not handle tech well. He had a period of unavailability every Friday as he had to do a weekly report.

I walked in on him doing that report, which took been two and four hours, because he be was manually copying hundreds of numbers from a csv file to a report document. By hand!

He was writing down each number in a notepad, using a pen, then switched to the reporting doc and wrote it back, one line at a time.

It took me less than 5 minutes to write an excel macro that did his weekly report automatically, with extra bells and whistles to boot.

This was the absolute worst example of work hard not smart I’ve ever seen.

If space engineers were to get a more cohesive solo/coop survival mode without having to juggle fifty possibly incompatible mods it’d be a real killer app. There’s potential there, but there’s a bit too much manual scenario/server setup and once you get started there’s not really a lot of progression outside surviving long enough to get a basic smelter + dirt drill system set up.

That said, I recently had a surprisingly good time with the Wasteland Scavenger mod, which sets up a pretty unique scenario where you have to salvage a lot of components from POIs, you can’t build things like tanks or thrusters yourself, but you find them lying around in bases and wrecks.

So why not just say “The US Government” instead of “the Biden administration” If the battle has been going on for several decades, why call out the current administration particularly? Because then you can point to this and say “see what a horrible person Biden in who personally is responsible for this happening!”

I found out what it was! I was distracted during the intro message, and didn’t see I should use the gamemaster character to make a new account, I thought a new character was enough. But it seems the new character also had gm status. As is the rule with these things, I found this out a few minutes after posting the message.

Quick question for anyone in the know, I’ve been looking around but finding info on this mod is rather difficult.
NPCs will just give away all their inventory for free, is this a permanent fixture or one that is disabled by something? Is it possible to disable and if so, is it possible to actually play the game without getting stuff for free?

Also, is there a way to increase the size of the vendor trade window? it’s rather cramped.

I’ve had some good fun with this with friends the last few days but the latest patch, which dropped yesterday, was supposed to improve hit registration. Unfortunately it seems to have done the opposite for a lot of users, with a great new message claiming ‘packetloss’ as the reason 5 out of 7 shots didn’t register. This coming from a modern computer on a gigabit network with >30 ping to the server.
We also had some weird issues with bandaging and healing people just not registering, but still spending resources, and a lot of people just gave up trying to heal altogether.

Steve, in fact, was part of the BoD when Reddit stopped the revenue sharing scheme that some apps had up until… 2021? Something like that, don’t quote me on it.

It does certainly seem like it, but what exactly are they trying to achieve? They don’t have an IPO yet and even if they got one now it would be devalued over before the shit show. And with every new day reddit shows potential investors that they have absolutely no control of the situation, and just doubles down on idiocy.
