If your bassist shows up with a left handed Hofner - that’s actually Paul McCartney in disguise.
They’re trying to convince themselves more than us.
The volume and depth of modern Japanese kitchen gadgetry puts America to shame.
Japan records centuries of history with specialized tools for making ceremonial beverages and foods.
So to your point: I think kitchen gadgets speak to highly consumerist cultures.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•what's your take on employers banning the use of languages other than English between coworkers at the workplace?
675·9 months agoForcing groups or individual workers to communicate in a non-primary language can present employee safety concerns.
There is also a hit to overall productivity, as communications include hesitations or slight pauses and is not nearly as detailed as it could be.
Employees should communicate with each other in the most effective way possible.

I can’t recommend this enough. I have been using LibreOffice for a few years and saved myself a lot of money.
Saved even more money a few months ago when I fully switched my OS to open source and left the Microsoft/Apple walled gardens behind.
