That I cannot answer. The way Anna’s Archive works, I believe, is that the files are stored somewhere else. They do care about privacy though, and even accounts are made without email with a random string as your username. Might want to look into it some more.

Anna’s Archive (Currently located at [https://annas-archive.gd/]) would be my site of choice to share the book on! I can’t comment on the scanning thing though, sorry about that.
Not an appropriate post in this community

Some very niche books, like books that are related to a game series for example. Also some university literature, scientific papers and history/culture books that are either hard to find or very expensive locally.

AA has managed to stay up for surprisingly long. I hope they will continue to do so. There is a large amount of documents that are hard to find anywhere else there, not to mention all the university books that would cost a a fortune to buy for a poor student…
EDIT: typo.

I checked OP’s account history. Explains a lot…

Notesnook should do it! It has a premium monthly subscription thing that gives you some extra functionality, but the free version does sync automatically between devices. I’ve been using it for a year now myself and have had no complaints.

Ah yes, the news agency of famously trustworthy and non-propagandist Russian state. Fuck off with that

What the actual fuck? The US has turned into a parody of itself. It’s sad to see.
Wrong place to post this.

My first direct contact with open source as a kid was OpenOffice. I loved writing and I remember dad talking about this free alternative to MS Word and wanted to check it out. Maybe you could figure out some digital interests your kid has and find related open source software for them to try.

Minecraft, The Sims and Minesweeper. Minecraft specifically on Peaceful Creative settings so the kids can do creative stuff without scary monsters. Trine Enchanted Edition could also work, but with parental supervision.

Guess pirating for personal use is on the table now, boys!

No beatings happened in 1989 at Tiananmen square, I hear /s

People. Use protection, please! And if you’re very active with multiple partners, get tested frequently. It’s not rocket science. We’re in 2025, this really shouldn’t be happening.

I’d recommend checking out the Far Cry games, from Far Cry 2 onwards.
Also, while not necessarily exactly the thing you’re looking for, the Sniper Ghost Warrior series offers a lot of good stuff. especially SGW3 and later are really fun and have pretty decent gunplay and the games can be played pretty nicely without focusing on the sniper aspect.
And if you feel like doing even more snipering, Sniper Elite gives you some NICE slow-mo X-ray closeups of your bullets destroying your enemies, but the gunplay besides Snipers isn’t that fun.

When game developers noticed the market for GPUs is growing and processing in general are getting more advanced, they started to care less about optimizing their games. That’s literally it. It’s laziness.
There are still devs that do their best to really optimize their games but most studios, especially AAA ones don’t care.

EU has passed some great laws regarding technology in the past few years. This is not one of them.
Back in my day console prices went down with time…
