Bike in the city, for communting limited distances (under 1 hour i’d say), and when you obviously dont have to carry someone else (who could take the bike himself anyways).
Outside the city or for longer distances there are this long cars that go straight more than 90 mph and have room for a bit more than 4 or 5 people.
I think every army that had to defend their home country would have preferred doing other things, and until 2022 i honestly tought that invasions were a thing of the past, at least in Europe. Russia showed otherwise, now i think that being capable of defending yourself is important. You dont have to have a ginormous army like the US but you have to be enough of a threat that somebody would think twice before attacking.

I would like to get a motorcycle or a vespa to wander around, but the little savings i have are for everyday needs and university linked expenses. I would also like to get some old weapons and go shooting sometimes, but they are as expensive as bikes. If i had some spare i would upgrade my gaming pc but i have not turned it on in months so i cant say its somethinng i would absolutely do if i had the possibility.
Yeah everybody work hard, doesnt give you the right to literally rob the collectivity. Salarymen pay for a much larger portion of goverment budget cause they have the taxes paid for them without exeption. That seems fair to you? That people who are btw much more hit by inflation also have to pay higher taxes cause others egoistically evade? And for what? Because they dont evade to survive, i assure you. So the government does something bad, not even directly cause as you said the problem is at municipal level, and suddenly taxes are bad and goverment isnt capable of doing anything good or spend money rightly? Seems a generalisation.
Probably not that bad but i read that 1/10 of the pil is gone due to tax evasion. The problem are PMI (small and medium businesses) that evade every occasion they have (plumbers, hairdressers, clothes washing etc.) and so the people that can’t phisically evade (aka people with fixed salaries, employees) watch their taxes skyrocket and their services going down.
Me cause i have free healthcare, university, benefit according to my level of income and so on. Its not even a worth debate if your point is “taxes are useless”
I mainly pay with card to be sure the seller pay his taxes. Italy loses a significant percentage of pil due to tax evasions. I drink tears of tax evaders.
Yeah i agree. I’ll just have to stamp the concept that i can have meaningful experiences even if i feel like im not in my “youth” anymore deep in my brain haha. Btw glad you got better and became anti-capitalist. we have nothing to lose but our chains! :)
In these times it feels we get a “once in a lifetime” event every other week hahaha. I guess one will become accustomed to that sooner or later.

I think you’re right, it’s just sometimes is hard to imagine that the best part of your life could come in a different period than the one when, as you said, you got both agency and minimal reponsibility.
Maybe i feel this way cause my dad kept repeating that i shouldnt waste my youth, and i probably got stuck comparing what he did in his twenties and what little i feel like i did in mine. retrospectively i probably did what i could back then, what i felt okay doing. We’ll see what the future reserves us
Well yeah of course, i recognise im very lucky compared to others, i don’t want to pass the idea that i think im in the worst place i could be and neither i write this in hope to get others to feel sorry for me. I was just putting my thoughts outside of my head.
About the work part, i probably gave the wrong idea. It’s not like im rich or smth that i can think of not working. I would like to continue to stay in university and get a Phd and maybe who know become a professor, but for my subject of study, which is underfunded compared to STEM, and in Italy in general it’s hard to get accepted if you don’t get a little “help” from a professor. If i cant pursue in this career id have to search for another kind of employment, and i guarantee you, here in Italy they aren’t anxious to give a job to somebody fresh out of uni which hasnt graduated in engineering or IT. Thats want i meant with “i’ll have to start working”.
Anyways yeah you are right, i was lucky thats, for sure. I try my best to do what i think is better for my life, maybe im just nostalgic.

But about your example with another civilization, don’t you think there’s a pretty big difference between two civilized (even if at different levels) species, where the more advanced one could recognise the fact we are just at a lower grade but still “respect” the fact we are sentient, and between humans and animals?
I mean, even if they are on another stage of civilization i dont think we can subjogate like those tribes who lives uncontacted in islands or forests, cause they are still people.
