News@lemmy.world•TSA announces $45 fee for travelers with no REAL ID
41·10 months agoI mean EU citizens can also travel similar distances in the schengen zone without a passport and just an ID card.
In NYC in particular though, I have a feeling that very few low income people drive into Manhatten instead of taking transit.

Cities: Skylines@lemmy.ml•Am I the only one who struggles with the idea of building highways?
4·2 years agoYes it’s perfectly possible to have a city without any cars either. You can disable all private cars from spawning and people will always bike or take public transport instead.

Cities: Skylines@lemmy.ml•Am I the only one who struggles with the idea of building highways?
4·2 years agoI just make cities with no highway connections at all. It’s very easy to build your cities around train stations and public transport instead.

Trains@lemmy.ml•California’s new electric train makes for a shockingly better trip—we tried itEnglish
3·2 years agoSo glad that caltrain finally has what would be considered normal in the rest of the world 🙄. But seriously this is a massive improvement and commuter rail systems should see this success and do this instead of trying to have battery powered trains and diesels that run under northeast corridor wires.

34·2 years agoThe cops are so unhelpful with break ins. I had a very similar experience when our house was broken into. First they told us our TV couldn’t have been stolen out the window if we only had a bigger tv, then they told us they couldn’t find any of our stuff and that they wouldn’t try either.
