13·13 days agoIt’s like when dumb characters do dumb shit in movies to the point where they are so dumb you want to see them die.
Lois Lane telling her son, who she just found out is a superhero and threatened to expose his identity, has her death coming.
She should know her dying is a possibility.

Lois Lane should have minded her own business.

She’s dumb enough to say, “I will expose you.” She knows Jon killing her is a very strong possibility…….
Even if Jon didn’t do it, one of his friends would.

14·13 days agoI find it super concerning you think it’s okay fir Jonathan to threaten to kill his mother
Lois literally threatened to reveal Jon’s secret to the world or to his father.
Her life is forfeit at that point.
Fuck around and find out.
Jon should kill her, and if she dies, she died because of her own stupidity.
You said you don’t talk to people you’re not attracted to.
Yeah cause what’s the point? What do I get out of it?
" Non-terrible people don’t decide whether to talk to someone solely based on attraction."
The person I was responding to said, “You aren’t mature enough to ask a retail worker out,” which is weird, creepy and kind of predatory considering they don’t know me and have never met me…
But sure, I’m the “terrible person”.

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•If your 'friends' don't text you, then they aren't your friends.
13·18 days agoLook man some people, like me, are just bad at staying in touch
If you don’t text your “friend”, then you are objectively not a friend; you are an “acquaintance” at worst.

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•The "man vs bear" "debate" is a no-win scenario
14·18 days agoIt’s a trend from a while ago; women were asking men, “If your daughter were stranded in the wilderness, would you rather her be near a bear or a man?”

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•“My body, my choice” should apply to drug use, too.
18·19 days agoWhen a parent denies their underage child, with a brain that is still developing, hard drugs I think that is appropriate parenting
I am “pro-choice” with anything as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone else (but you). From my skin inwards is my total jurisdiction; it was JONATHAN’S BODY. Not Clark, not Lois. If Jon wants to inhale an alien space narcotic or snort cocaine, that should be his right.
Again Clark and Lois violated Jonathan’s autonomy, and that was wrong, especially for Superman, who stands for “humans having free will”, and Lois Lane, a woman who worked her way up in a male-dominated environment and who fights for “truth and justice”.
Also, it’s just bad writing because Superman should have better things to do than whine and complain about how his son, who doesn’t even have powers at the time, is taking an illegal drug. Big fucking whoop.
youre just a terrible human
*You’re
Also, how does this make me a “terrible human”? Because I don’t go out of my way to be friendly, that makes me “terrible”.

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•Choosing to not to help your friends dying child doesn't make you an asshole
111·24 days agowhen Peter Parker said “I missed the part where that’s my problem”, that was meant to be a bad thing
But it’s not a “bad thing”. Some things are objectively not your problem just because you CAN help someone in need doesn’t mean you HAVE to, and it doesn’t make you a “bad person”.
Let’s be real: most people don’t help others in need even when they are able to. People who donate to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital or volunteer with homeless people do so for performative reasons or to just look good in front of someone; in the end, they are doing so for their own self-interest.
you dont understand body language
I do understand body language, which is why I walked away…
If I’m not attracted to a person, I genuinely don’t talk to them or respond to people talking to me.

12·25 days agosuperheroes are terrible because they lie to hide their identity.
I never said superheroes are terrible for hiding their identity. I said I think Clark and Lois from Superman and Lois are self-righteous hypocrites because they lie to protect Clark’s secret, but then they expect honesty from Jonathan and Jordan. If they are ok with lying, then they shouldn’t get mad when Jon and Jordan blatantly lie to their face.

21·25 days agoIf you go to a Walmart, Target or any store regularly, EVEN if you are acquainted with some of the employees, it’s impossible to ask them out in general. Even if we take romance out of it and just want a friend, it’s damn near impossible.

111·26 days agoGood on you for becoming self aware
I’m always self-aware and can read body language, and I don’t take rejection very personally; I just walk away. If I continue going to this Walmart, I’ll wave to her, but I probably won’t speak to her unless she initiates it.
That and I try to talk to women like I would literally anyone else. Granted, I’m obviously more nervous when I talk to a woman I’m attracted to, but I don’t use pickup lines or “play the game”; I usually talk to them like a normal person.

Because she IS a nobody… Let’s say Jonathan Kent did have his own 18+ superhero story with supporting characters, villains, love interests, etc. Lois has nothing to do with this whatsoever; what Jon does has nothing to do with her. The fact that Lois even THINKS she can demand Jon tell her the truth and acts like she has a right to know his identity is laughable and makes her a nosybody, a self-righteous hypocrite and a narcissist.
Jon owes her absolutely nothing, and she should mind her own business.
“but an older woman he’s fucking has more right to do so because they’re fucking. You’re weird.”
Because Jon’s girlfriend has an actual stake in his life. I’m not saying she has a right to know Jon’s identity either, but if we are comparing who Jon should reveal his identity to, he should tell his girlfriend and never tell his mother.
“I find the idea that Jon or Lois would go to the extreme of cutting each other out of their life in this scenario unrealistic”
If Lois tells Clark Kent their son is a superhero and Jon tells Lois not to, Jon should 100% cut her out of his life permanently and never ever forgive her.
