It’s not quite at the William S. Burroughs level of batshittery just yet but you’re not far off.

What a fascinating work of fiction you’ve just created. You should use it to write a really shit short story
So your take is: let’s throw all those other studies from other countries in the bin then, because it clearly just comes down to ‘mindset’. Wat
Except studies consistently show UBI counterintuitively incentivizes those on it to work: ‘Finland is the only country to have carried out a nationwide, randomised control trial of UBI. The evaluation found that people receiving basic income were more likely to be in work than those in the control group.’
Also, having a secure financial footing is remarkably effective at alleviating mental health issues and promoting overall wellbeing, leading to more people in the workforce and more people contributing to the economy (ideally, this would benefit everyone but, you know, Neoliberalism…).
Bit of a knee jerk reaction, my man.

4·9 months agoBecause the Riddler actually had a valid point regarding the corruption infecting the city’s elites. If the scriptwriter had followed this chain of thought, Batman would have ended up fully siding with the Riddler and potentially giving all his money away to fund social progress and equity.
Obviously instead the Riddler went mental and Batman gets to keep his wee belt.
Okay, so be a pregnant child. Got you.

Aw man, totally. They were the sole reason I built a more modern bike: those brakes became the bane of my existence. The extremely hilly section at the end of the trip was arse-clenchingly terrifying. The noise they made was like a cat going down a waterslide.
Fun in an ordeal sort of way though!
I did John O’ Groats to Land’s End on a steel frame bike! There’s something reassuring about knowing you could plow into a wall at 20 miles an hour and the bike will not give a single shit. Here it is just before setting off:
