No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•why does celebrating violence or simply wishing for bad things to happen to certain people (like trump) get you banned from sites like Twitter and reddit?
2·5 days agoAre you asking why breaking the rules on a site gets you banned?

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Who is the laziest person in the US? Not asking for just media figures but common joe blo's and is ther like a world record for it? How does one get in the running of being the laziest? Like the dude?
6·6 days agoAs this question appears to be based on The Big Lebowski (great movie!) you’ll have to ask the writers if you want to know.
You convinced me I’m switching!

Identify a skill that is in demand and find a way to learn it. That’s the only secret to having an income.
It seems like you rather answer the question than ask it. Have you considered starting a blog?

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•If Sodom and Gomorrah were real. How bad were they that god had to come down and smite them? Are they any comparison to today's society?
7·17 days agoThe Bible doesn’t say and there is no consensus among Biblical scholars about what the sins of Sodom and Gomorrah were. Some believe it was simply arrogance and inhospitality.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.ca•Since a biological/born male doesnt have a vagina or uterus or fallopian tubes, what instead occupies all that indoor plumbing space?
6·18 days agoNow I’m no expert but clearly there is still space in there cause that’s how “stuffing” works.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Is anyone else apprehensive to down voting even if you're being down voted?
3·19 days agoI get into these comment chains from time to time where really no matter what I post whoever I’m talking to downvotes…
I suggest avoiding such comment chains. If the person you are talking to is downvoting everything you write then you can be certain you are wasting your time.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Update: My landlord served me a 3 day notice to cure violation or move out over keeping my window open. It's not on my lease. It's not a violation.
31·20 days agoIt doesn’t matter. Unless they are keeping the apartment at an unreasonably high or low temp, then California typically recognizes a landlord’s right to require you to keep the windows closed when the AC is running.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Update: My landlord served me a 3 day notice to cure violation or move out over keeping my window open. It's not on my lease. It's not a violation.
152·21 days agoThis is not legal advice but in California, the landlord of a rooming house (which it sounds like you are in) has the right to make reasonable house rules and “keep the windows closed when the AC is on” is generally recognized as reasonable rule. Its unlikely a court would side with you on this.
Keeping the window open in a room (even with the door shut) impacts the temperature and humidity of the rest of the house. Rooms within a house are not air tight when the door is closed. In fact, the airflow in a house is designed to circulate and mix all the air from all the rooms so that the AC runs efficiently, even when the doors are closed.
oh the irony

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•I am someone who works out daily and sweats a lot. Just doing laundry doesn't seem to adequately clean the underarms of my shirts. What are some ways to clean these areas of my clothing better?
11·22 days agoMy advise is to wear undershirts. Even the tank top ones will make a big difference in keeping your shirts clean.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How has Apple tricked so many people into believing that they "just need to get another Apple product"?
141·22 days agoPersonally, I don’t get why the solution to many of the issues people experience with Apple devices is to buy another one.
I’m not really familiar with this. My wife uses a macbook. She’s had it for 6 years and I can’t recall any real issues with it.

When you say a “limited number of devices” do you mean a closed system when you have provisioned all the devices or do you mean you also need to be able to receive calls from standard phones?
To replace a landline you can just use a service like Vonage Home for about $10/month. If you want to setup your own PBX (phone system) for calling your own managed set of devices, then you need more. In any case, you always need a SIP service if you want to make and receive calls with regular phone numbers.
