thankfully there are mods to disable cosmetics for those that don’t want to see them.

I really appreciate how much customization TF2 still allows. HUDs, configs, insane graphics tweaks, borderline cheating with legal console commands.

This is already existing tech, just being implemented in a way where they can shoehorn AI into it, as if load balancing didn’t already involve adaptive algorithms. It’s commendable that they are trying new things, but ultimately this isn’t a tremendous step.

Yea lately I’ve been playing a bunch of Quake and Doom mods/wads/paks. There are probably tens of thousands of hours worth of free content available for both of these games. Kinda makes it hard to justify buying a new game when I could go download some masterpiece Quake campaign for free.
