PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•‘This shouldn’t be normal’: developers speak out about bigotry on Steam, the world’s biggest PC gaming storefrontEnglish
2·1 天前Woke means aware of social injustice. Which interestingly, is being aware of how hate speech laws can be unjust.

2·1 天前Nah, it’s worse. At least those comments criticized the game before the ad hominem.

2·1 天前My friend, every online platform is censored. Yes, it’s censorship, no I’m not saying it’s good, but that’s the world we find ourselves in.
At the end of the day, the question is “would you recommend this game” and it’s your prerogative to answer as you wish, as long as you don’t break Steam’s rules. And if you do, your review is removed.

2·1 天前I believe you should be allowed to stand in front of your local game store and say dumb things. Vandalism is something else.
Of course, neither is currently allowed, so your opinion and my opinion are irrelevant.
It absolutely can. AI can be a decision maker for an LTD. I’m not saying it’s good, or it should be this way. But there’s nothing stopping it.

2·25 天前Right?! Steam is great if you’re willing to wait. I basically don’t buy games anymore unless they’re 80% off or really cheap anyways.

1·25 天前it probably wont pop in the way a lot of online commenters are predicting. big companies like google, microsoft, apple, amazon, etc will be fine. a bunch of startups and small-mid sized companies will go under. a few big ones will get bought by bigger ones.
even without ai they’re going to need more datacenters. there’s a lot you can do with a shitton of compute beyond generating questionable ai-slop.

2·25 天前NFTs didn’t directly need GPUs really. eth did, but that’s not really the same thing. NFTs didn’t increase demand, the price of eth did. Same in how the price of bitcoin increased demand.
Either way, prices never came down from that, and I suspect they’ll never come down from this.

I just checked and at least the ones I have are all doing fine, mostly only a bit down from their aths
the strawman further polarizes me away from your perspective. if i didn’t know better I would say you’re trying to make things worse.
Even the 2 dimensional compass is a simplification, though orders of magnitude better than the binary “left or right” simplification, and also better than the 2 dimensional gradient as well.

Canada@lemmy.ca•Is Canada compromising its values to do business with China? - China's secret war in Canada -- [podcast + opinion piece]
12·2 个月前No, I get it, you don’t like nuance.
A good point! In London,
1918 – Representation of the People Act This is effectively when universal male suffrage happened. All men aged 21+ could vote
1928 – Equal Franchise Act Full equality: women could vote at 21+, the same as men.
People keep making this a men vs women thing, but that’s a distraction. There is no war but the class war. Don’t let the owner class further divide the proletariat.
Ok. Everybody can get back to meme’n now.

Canada@lemmy.ca•‘They processed me like a criminal’: Ontario woman denied entry to Costa Rica over torn passport | CP24
1·3 个月前Similar to me. My passport got wet when I was in the rain. The lady at the Canadian passport office literally yelled at me for damaging it. I was surprised, but they seem to take it very seriously.

How ever bad you think they’re going to get, you’re wrong. It’s going to be worse.
I hope you’re ready.
