ADHD memes@lemmy.dbzer0.com•traveling time at the speed of one second per secondEnglish
2·5 天前Same. I got blackout drunk twice in my life, the second time I spent most of the next day in the ER because I couldn’t even keep water down. The older I got, the less I could tolerate alcohol, to the point I would get sick and vomit before I could get to the point of blackout. I very rarely drink anymore now and it’s only one drink at the time at most.
Yeah, I get the guilt. I, too, had it when I was unemplyoed and wasn’t financially independent.
I know a few stay at home partners/spouses and all act the same: highly demanding and think they’re better than everyone else because their partners are high earners despite never achieving anything in life. That’s why it personally gives me the ick. Kudos to anyone who is in that situation, but doesn’t act entitled.
How do people feel about stay at home spouses without kids? Is that something that is generally frowned upon?

0·6 天前Counter question. Care to explain how this would work on global scale? For instance, how would travelling for leisure work?

51·7 天前Genuine question: how would you replace money in a complex society? Exchanging favors and services works only on a very small scale.

4·10 天前Meanwhile in my company our department was told we need to work overtime to prove we need one more person to do the workload. Lol. Lmao even. Unfortunately, one of us is a workaholic and does exactly that.

5·10 天前Good public trackers were shut down. Getting into decent private ones is a huge pain, if you even manage to get an invitation/interview. Some trackers aren’t compatible with *Arrs (due to Cloudflare). Seeders and speeds can be awful, and keeping a healthy ration isn’t easy for some. If one is willing to pay, Usenet is a great alternative. I run both to cover most ground, but mostly rely on the latter now.
So, a relative of my partner’s is an influencer. I thought they had a glamorous life, because they travel all around the world. Turns out they don’t even technically get paid to promote products. Their trip expenses are covered, but that’s about it. Which I find bizarre, but I guess as long as they’re young and pretty it works.

12·10 天前It comes off as very out of touch when you know people are fatigued by having to send hundreds, if not thousands, of copies of their CV because the job market is absolutely broken. This doesn’t help anyone.

Europe@feddit.org•Sweden’s Finance Minister Proposes Inquiry Into Euro AdoptionEnglish
9·10 天前No, introducing Euro was 100% used as an excuse to hike up the prices even more. That’s not inherently a Euro problem, but corruption problem, yes. However, it did happen. At this point the prices are as bad as in Austria. Or even worse.

14·11 天前I have a friend who visits every year. They’re not concerned because “we’re white”. I wonder if they’ll still go this year after ICE killed (at least) two white US citizens.
I’d say “Mexican” food sucks in most European countries. I had exactly what you had in several places here. The only thing I’ve ever had that I could call real Mexican food was the tacos I ate from a food stand made by an actual Mexican in Netherlands.

Demisexual. Yes, we do exist. From anecdotal experience it’s mostly women who are demisexuals.
