make a movie/show, showing inclusive character, it always puts thier panties in a bunch, and its mostly what they whining about anyways. early ISAIP season trolled conservatives, but later ones plays it too safe.
Live in a diverse city and interact with its people
Travel overseas. Realize the parts of that society that are better than yours. Talk to others about that. Learn about diversity and talk about it’s benefits
Think critically and exercise empathy. Humanize people. Oppose ongoing abuses. Enjoy the lifelong pursuit of knowledge. The truth is a threat to them, which is why they keep spraying lies everywhere.
That is the reason I post a lot. For the pursuit of knowledge and engagement. No one gets it but for lack of a better term “get off” on deep long wall of texts. Plus I take about 500mg of welbutrin so that may be it to. Thanks for the reply. Have a good weekend.
Nice. I think many of humanity’s problems could be solved with more effective communication. Some people act like we don’t live in the same world, which makes it very difficult to hold each other accountable for our choices.
Thank you for the pleasant interaction. I hope you also have a nice weekend. 🙂
Idk if it counts but I work in the auto industry and regularly pop conservatives bubbles about how “great” Elongated Muskrat is.
Treat other people with respect and compassion, no matter how they present themselves. Not performatively, but because you genuinely care about the wellbeing of other people around you. Practice this until it becomes instinctive, until it feels wrong to behave any other way.
That also means not trying to provoke other people on purpose. The most aggravating thing you can do to the people you imagine is refuse to be provoked by them.
You don’t “win” by getting even, you win by living a good life in spite of the behavior of assholes.
Treat women with respect.
Don’t be racist.
Watch tv shows and movies with female leads.
Basically don’t be a pig eyed sack of shit.
I’ll assume you’re a cis guy who is unambiguously read by strangers as one. If this is the case, wear a pin that says he/him and has a trans pride flag. If anyone asks about it, say you’re not trans, but an ally.
The best part? You can use a pronoun pin in a way trans people can’t - to unambiguously identify and call out bigoted assholes.
It’s hard for trans people to call out misgendering, as bigots know how to deflect. If a bigot knows someone is trans, even if they appear cisgender, they will still misgender them. When called out, they’ll deny it and say, “sorry, I just read you that way.”
Well you as a cisgender man can call them out on this bullshit. If you wear a he/his pronoun pin, eventually someone will aggressively call you “she.” And in that case, they have nowhere to hide. They can’t pretend they’re just going off how they read you. They clearly just saw your pronoun pin, concluded you were trans, and decided to treat you in a way that they thought would hurt you the most. And you can publicly call them out on it.
So, I am a cishet guy with trans family and am absolutely a supporter of an individual’s right to self-determination, and I’ve thought through all of this and considered wearing such pins, but… I have a problem with the general concept of categorizing/pigeonholing people (including myself), I don’t like the idea that people should or should need to label themselves, and I’m very uncomfortable with virtue signaling (which frankly I think what you’re suggesting very much is) and with adopting the iconography of a community that I’m not necessarily a member of, which feels kind of like cultural appropriation.
Also, yeah, publicly supporting people who are targeted by discrimination is a great motivation, but the idea of wearing such a pin with the intent/hope of provoking a confrontation with another person is… very disturbing.
Well, you can be uncomfortable. I’m comfortable with that.
Just got arrested for a supposed DWI even though I blew a 0.0000000. Don’t cops need to read your Miranda rights to you? I asked for a blood or hair follicle test and I was denied. WTH is happening?
… did you get radicalised? :P
Read books and bathe. That’s usually enough of a mirror to themselves.
Carry rainbow markers so you can fill-in the stupid “thin blue line” bumper stickers with pride flags
The problem is, it is such a nebulous term, that it works to their advantage. Woke used to mean just being aware of the MANY injustices in the world, particularly against women, persons of color, queer or otherwise historically oppressed people, but they keep on moving the goal posts of the term to include other common sense things. According to some, empathy is woke and that is super dangerous and scary to me. So I guess, just have some empathy and you’ll be on the right track
Have you tried dying your hair a crazy color? They hate that.
