“We’re somewhere between an optimistic melancholic nostalgia and a comforting reassurance of dread.”

- PoppaGringo

AnthroSwim is a feeling. There’s no specific theme or subject, it’s really centered around vibes. Most furry/anthropomorphic communities are boundless with art that seems to highlight an imagined world where even the smallest moments of melancholy are gone, yet we don’t live that world.

This is a remake of the subreddit <Anthro Swim>, brought to lemmy. If you want a quick rundown of what to expect here, I’d recommend taking a brief scroll through there. We’re trying to capture the same spirit and feeling.

It’s likely this community will have a lot of content that’s charged with some message, namely, things that’d trip the Content Warning Policy of pawb.social. NSFW, Political, Blood/Gore, Religion, Drugs… Please mark your posts accordingly, but expect to see these things when visiting.

As for rules, they’re rather basic and standard, but worth writing down anyways.

Rules

  1. Post what fits the vibes.
  1. Credit all art.

Include the artist’s name in the title, and a direct link to their work in the body.

  1. No Pornography.

Nudity and similar content is allowed, so long as there isn’t intent to arouse.

  1. Give distressing content a CW (Content Warning).

Religion, Politics, NSFW, Drugs, Blood/Gore, and other questionable themes need a Content Warning in the title.

  1. No AI content.

Exceptions are made if art is predominantly human-made, and the intent is a statement about AI.

Title format doesn’t need to be exact, but contain the following content: [CW] Title <Artist>

Example: [Pol] Violence Turned Justice <FatherPeanut>

The pool’s open, if you’re willing to dive in. <AnthroSwim>
