I’m a huge fan of sortition as a system of democracy. The people who choose a career in politics are often the worst people to be representing us.

The exception of course, is when a political party is an arm of the trade unions like in my country, but the trade union party doesn’t always win and everyone else in parliament are psychotically narcissistic.

Anyway my ideal system for my country would be a bicameral legislature with lower house elected from candidates approved by the trade unions and an upper house elected by sortition.
