Israel was open about ethnically cleansing the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. They wanted this to be a second Nakba. Despite committing heinous crimes against humanity the like which the world has never seen, they still lost.
The world has finally seen what Israel has always been. Israel can’t pretend to be some moral oasis of democracy and enlightenment surrounded by Arab and Muslim savages. The false narrative that went unchallenged for so long has been finally exposed.
@PanArab @Miro_Collas Good chance this will backfire badly on Israel. Who wants to work together with such a nation? Who wants to re-elect politicians that look away? Perhaps older generations and religious groups, but these will fade away.
Also, Iran will lick its wounds and strike back at some point.@PeterBlok Remember, the US protects Israel, and doesn’t like it when other nations go against it. See also my reply to @PanArab
@Miro_Collas @PanArab The US is making itself impossible to work with as well, lest fascism can be kept at bay in the rest of the world. But even then, fascism is also self-destructive in the long run. The times are changing.
@PanArab Yes, it has been. The real horror is that (almost) no other nation is reacting, calling for accountability. Israel will continue to act with impunity, and (almost) no one will do anything.
Almost. The Houthis are reacting as best they can. Colombia has ejected the entire Israel diplomatic corps. S.Africa filed the case at the ICJ. Not much else of significance has been done. Meantime, Arab and muslim nations are normalizing with Israel. Palestine is being sacrificed.
