Being Conservative and being Christian aren’t compatible ideologies. You can follow the teachings of Jesus or be conservative, you can’t do both.

This assumes that Christian means “follow the teachings of Jesus Christ”. Unfortunately Christianity has never meant that. Even less in the US since Billy Graham.

I have no idea what you’re talking about, it’s always meant that. Anyone who doesn’t follow the teachings of Jesus but calls themselves Christian is just lying.

I’m not sure they’re lying as long as they actually think they are christians but are just wrong about it in your eyes.

There are definitely millions of people who “follow” the teachings (they listen when somebody feeds them a tracking) even though they don’t implement them in real life.

Have you read on the history of evangelical Christians during the US civil war? Two different factions of Christians argued both sides, against and pro slavery. Both cited Jesus and the bible, often.

Christianity is anything you want it to be. Proof is on the fact that there are like 45 thousand different Christian denominations, and they all have a different interpretation of Jesus, some diametrically opposite each other. Even the apostols argued with each other about how to interpret Jesus on certain topics. That’s the problem of trying to rule your life under the words and teachings of one single person who may or may not have existed.

I think it’s people projecting. Then they make a whole charade out of it, and it gives them free access to the most vulnerable people without safeguards. I’ll never truly understand it.

When’s the last time a Drag Queen hurt anybody? I don’t remember any incidents.

June 28, 1969 Marsha and a few friends really hurt the fee fees of some fascist losers by having the audacity to stand up for themselves.

Thats the only thing I can come up with.

        Rest in power Marsha.

2008, Hess Village, a drag queen told me “you know clothes come in colours now, right?” It wasn’t even part of a set — I was just walking on the sidewalk.

Most famous one I have in recent memory was Sherry Pie, lied to a bunch of young gay men saying he was auditioning for something and coerced them into recording themselves doing sexual actions.

Not the worst thing in the world but still is a pretty awful thing to do to others

Edit; probably important to note that he did this out of drag, his drag persona was not involved at all (iirc)

I grabbed a drink with a buddy a couple weeks ago at a bar that happened to be having Drag Bingo. The host kinda guilt-tripped me for not playing. That’s about the worst interaction I’ve ever had with a Queen.

So this guy faced 8 counts, with a maximum sentence of 10 years each. He pled guilty to 2 counts in exchange for getting the other six dropped. he’s gonna go for some psych evaluation, maybe spend some time in jail, maybe not. He left his cushy gig, but I’m sure in a few months he will go on a public speaking tour about how repentant he is, the board will talk about how God always gives second chances, and he’ll get back pretty much everything.

Meanwhile, there are immigrants who are being tossed out of the country by this administration for much more minor offenses committed 10 or 20 years ago (which they already paid the price for). They have been following all the rules since then, and now we decide we don’t want them here anymore, and they lose everything they built here.

I think our values are all out of whack here.

Conservative Christianity is the most glaring sign that someone is likely a pedophile. I’m not surprised in the slightest.

As someone who grew up in a fundamentalist Christian household, and have been around a lot of “Christians,” i think many of them become so fiercely religious because they think it will help them overcome “sinful” tendencies. For example, my father liked to drink and fight in his twenties. Around the time I was born he became fiercely religious. I’ve always assumed that was because he wanted to clean up his life to be a better dad. He stopped drinking but he found plenty of people to fight in his own house …
