“The hype will be gone argument” seems irrelevant. This is not some live-service games. They don’t really need to be continuous growfth of fans. Almost all games with continous growth have some predatory system.
As long their business is sustainable, they can finish continue their journey even when things get dip a bit.

Most of English instance are using Misskey-fork named Sharkey.
Misskey itself has tons of unique features that Mastodon don’t have, like threaded discussion/reply, Misskey games (only two for now), custom interface, emoji reaction like Discord/Slack.

In my country, there’s plenty of nun that lives literally in the middle of the forest or mountain, surviving with their own grown food, with small old house probably not suitable for modern safety standard.
Or most of the time, they living in the same condition as average people, and dedicate their time as teacher, nurse, or other social jobs without any pay (or their wage usually combined for their fellow nun housing)

A big font with thousands of characters might occasionally have error on them, that’s why someone have to maintain them and checking for all visibility test. This even true for any CJK languages.
Example of error on Google Japanese Noto font: https://github.com/notofonts/noto-cjk/issues/286

It’s sad that there’s not many Japanese font provider, sure there are free font, but outside a few one, it’s not really well supported with updates and bug fixes.
Event Google’s Japanese Noto font requires contant update and bug fixing.

Noto Sans definitely not choice for most of games.
Imagine having Elden Ring or Persona being served as Noto Sans. Even text heavy games, especially visual novel, use unique suitable font on main menu.
I don’t know about the West, but a lot of Catholic community in SEAsia (excluding PH) are not blindly following the Pope. I know a lot of people in the community instantly criticizing any form corruption or negativity.
Even our mass regularly ask community to be more rationale in thinking.
