The drop-off isn’t even comparable though. I don’t know if I just watched a different show to everyone else, but season 1 of Invincible wasn’t as flawless as people remember it, and the later seasons aren’t as bad as people claim they are. On the other side, season 2 of OPM was worse than any Invincible season, while season 3 is one of the worst seasons of any show ever.

The biggest difference is that Invincible was still given resources by the studios, just with much less time so they could have a yearly release schedule. The producers adapting it cared about the material and have enough sway to get a decent, sustainably produced show. OPM did not have producers with significant sway, and was given minimal resources and time for the anime. Imagine having twice the wait between seasons as S1 and S2 of Invincible, while the animators only get half a year to a few months of production time. They just aren’t in the same league.

Probably because phone cameras do various types of processing that varies based on manufacturer. My guess is that the preview you see before you take the image is both lower fidelity (to update it in real time, as it is effectively live video), and uses less intense processing. A lower res image often makes people look more attractive by hiding skin blemishes, while less intensive processing would likely further smooth over details you might not otherwise like.

If you want to take a good selfie with your phone, treat the preview as nothing more than a viewfinder for getting proper framing. Like people using more advanced cameras, take test shots to get a sense for what the lighting (and in this case image processing) will actually look like. As you take more pictures, you’ll get a better sense for how the camera works in different conditions. Once you become proficient, you’ll be able to accurately predict what the image will look like before the picture is taken.

I don’t get the whole “Invincible has bad animation” bit. After seeing what actually bad animation looks like in One Punch Man, I can’t take it seriously.

Frank Horrigan could be trans considering super mutants lose all sex characteristics in their transformation. Horrigan is so lacking in self awareness that he could literally have forgotten that he used to live as another gender. I don’t know the likelyhood of getting trans healthcare in the Imperium, but if it makes a soldier more effective, they might provide testosterone treatment to Cain. Degurechaff is already a gender-swapped character, so we don’t even need to stretch the story to make them trans.

Also, none of these characters seem to be heroic in any way. Fascinating

That’s the part I specifically don’t believe. Even the people like Bannon who have certain impressive skills, are ultimately short term thinkers that are liable to miscalculation due to arrogance. At the end of the day, they know not to speak out against any dumb move Trump wants to pull, as he has consistently purged such people and replaced them with insane yes-men.

Trump has never been puppeted, only manipulated and tricked by people appealing to his ego. He is uniquely adept at uniting fascist foot soldiers and oligarchic interests, but he has never been the billionaires’ perfect option. They tried to replace him before both the 2016 and 2024 elections, specifically because he isn’t their lapdog.
